KEY POINTS

  • Republican South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem implied that President Joe Biden should consider putting down his dog Commander due to several incidents involving attacks on Secret Service agents.
  • Noem is fighting backlash against her decision to shoot her 14-month-old dog Cricket due to its aggressive behavior, as she revealed in her upcoming memoir.
  • Noem is contending to become presidential candidate Donald Trump’s VP pick, though some have speculated whether her controversial memoir snippets have ruined her chances.

Imagining becoming president in 2025 and sending Mr. Biden’s dog to meet his maker, Ms. Noem added: “Commander, say hello to Cricket for me.”

Noem appears to be targeting the “pro dog killing” portion of the electorate. Time will tell if Trump considers this more of an asset or a liability in his potential running mate.

What a fucking world we live in... I know it wasn't great for everyone but man I miss 2015.

As it has been said elsewhere, the 'Becky' segment of white suburban women would happily sacrifice the remaining citizens of Gaza to save one golden-doodle named Noodle.

I'm pretty sure once "dog-killer" gets onto your resume, that pretty much it for your political career in this country.

Hell I would not be surprised in the least if she was gunned down. Damned near every culture has some level of taboo around killing dogs, breaking that taboo is probably not the smartest move.

My two cents: Trump idolizes Hitler too much to pick a dog-killing advocate as a running mate

Hitler had his dogs killed to test the potency of the cyanide pills he was about to take because the Russians were knocking on his bunker door.

Also, trump hates dogs- and they hate him, too.
