Rules:
- Be civil and nice.
- Try not to excessively repost, as a rule of thumb, wait at least 2 months to do it if you have to.
Pretty much, we're going to have to be the change we wish to see
First kind of people in new online spaces is always tech nerds. Then the trans people come, or the tech nerds become trans, who knows. Anyways, it shouldn't take long ;)
Half of the internet is being held together by trans people and furries.
Emily from Linus Tech Tips poimts to the second option xd
Yeah the linux community definitely has a large amount of overlap with the trans community
maybe we need a trans related sub lemmy
Thanks for posting this both here and there, I definitely followed you to lemmy!
Glad to hear that!
I'd say some of the community moved over, see [email protected]. That's more news and politics oriented, but it seems pretty active.
I'm definitely hoping to see some more funny queer memes over time here (I'm not funny or clever enough to make original memes).
Don't worry, 196 gonna rise again!
Ikr, there are people posting 2010 facebook cat memes. I'm sorry to those people but it ain't it
We are likely before the main exodus, so this will likely change, or so I hope.
Iβm hearing some .. troubling things about some of the Lemmy developers.. the word βtankiesβ cropping up 0_o

Kbin seems less problematic though, and while itβs still rough around the edges seems, to me, to have better UX too. And it can still interact with communities and people on Lemmy instances so youβre not isolated away from those corners.
The main devs are MLs, but I don't think that necessarily makes them tankies. The Lemmygrad instance is the worst offender if that bothers you. This instance is not sectarian, though it does have a leftist culture in general.
There is an anarchist community already on this instance as well, and it's likely this instance trends toward progressive politics as users come in and push the culture toward the mainstream.
Keep in mind, the technology behind this platform is mostly agnostic. Anyone can build an instance that facilitates their chosen beliefs and choose to only federate with other like-minded instances.

Better than rightoids π€·ββοΈ Still somewhat authoritarian
