It's tied to the US for very good reason. Israel is effectively a vassal state to the US, and the US has used its veto power at the UNSC dozens and dozens and dozens of times to block resolutions directed at Israel, all while providing it with arms to commit atrocity after atrocity. If you don't see how the US is deeply enmeshed in this, you are simply misinformed. This situation wouldn't happen wothout US interference.
