I wanted to build a Pell for myself and my kids to use and was wondering if y’all knew if there was any advantage to using a round vs square post. Also, if you have any tips or designs I’d really appreciate the help =)

We've been working on closing distance at class. Its involved a lot of getting hit out of reach by longer weapons. But when you pull off the close its a great feeling

So at my club we have noticed a lot of people tend to make one strike step back then make another or a cover.

To work towards more commitment we have started using Myers Square in our training, having each fencer cut through it against an actual opponent whos only job is to cover themselves from each cut.

We have also started using known cut sets, I.E fendente, reverso sotani mezzani reverso fendente. And drilling that over and over for 5 minutes. (I stole the idea from kickboxing training)

From this we have noticed the students get a lot more worn out, so its good exercise and out sparring sessions have really improved in the sense that the fighters will through combinations rather than a single cut.

We were training commitment and aggression. Started with spear on longsword and finished dagger v longsword
