I'd love to see it take off as well. I primarily used Apollo for reddit. I hate the reddit app, I do not need advertisements and religious "he gets us" bullshit pushed on me every time I want to look and make sure nobody is having problems with my addon. I won't be on reddit near as much. I'm stuck checking it from my pc only and that's not often.

Let me start by saying I hope you enjoy this stuff. Some of these can be a bit much to setup. I personally love this stuff so for me although it can be challenging it's fun.

I started out by installing OMV 6 - Open Media Vault. https://www.addictedtotech.net/how-to-install-openmediavault-6-on-a-raspberry-pi-4/

That's your starting point. From there you can install "Portainer" from the OMV extras. Portainer is where you will put all your docker containers.

Here's another script you can use to install several of these if you want to do it without OMV or docker.

there's not really a way around that currently. I could try to implement some type of sorting system for language but it would still be dependent upon the actual file name. We cannot detect language packs or subtitles that are encoded with Kodi unfortunately. I did put in a feature request for Kodi 21 to give us more information on encoded subtitles, but there hasn't been any traction on it.

I was able to get over the majority of the style issues on Lemmy by adding the extension Stylus and installing this theme. https://userstyles.world/style/10440/rediggit-for-lemmy

Hopefully that helps some that want the old.reddit look.

Glad to see this. You're welcome, enjoy!

You can avoid a lot of the Russian audio and such by setting a default language in your actual Kodi settings.

Kodi > Settings > Player > Language > Perferred Audio Language
Kodi > Settings > Player > Language > Preferred Subtitle Language

That small setting change will make a huge difference for the amount of foreign language titles you get.

One suggestion might be to load a Debian build on it and use it for docker containers. With docker containers you can do so many different things. I have a PI 4 and it does all of the following:
PiHole - For blocking ads. (Everyone should have one of these)
OpenMediaVault - For NAS
Portainers - For loading docker containers
Radarr - Downloading Movies
Sonarr - Downloading TV Shows
Tautulli - Monitors my plex server
Overseer - Allows members of my plex share to request content.
NZBGET and Real-Debrid Torrent Downloader Clients - For downloading content from usenet or real-debrid.

I have one Pi4 running all of these as docker containers. Have fun!
