Capitalism has destroyed the middle class and absorbed all of the wealth...

No one has disposable income to upgrade to a phone that has no major feature changes over the one that came out over 5 years ago.

Until workers are seen as assets rather than expenditures, the enshittification of all facets of life under capitalism will continue to get worse.

Yeah, it's an hour walk one way to that store...

Where I live owning a car is a requirement :(

Yeah, there's way to much money being made by private prisons to decriminalize, and way to much money lost if Pharma can't monopolize.

The only reason the schedule 1 drug list includes marijuana is because people of color and counter culture members against the Vietnam war were the primary users. It was in Nixons best interests to make pot and psychedelics illegal because it was making people realize war was bullshit.

I get what you mean. I am 100% behind any humans right to be whoever they want to identify as. I am also not naive to the fact that hormones do alter muscle density and development.

I am not an expert, but I do have critical thinking skills.

That being said, I feel like if a trans person wants to participate in sports with cis gender of the same sex, maybe they need to have their hormones monitored to be in line with the average of that gender for a decent period of time so they don’t have hormone based advantages?

If anyone has a better suggestion, please by all means, let me know. That idea is the best one I could personally come up with while defending the trans community from a co-worker that leans very far right and brings up pedos claiming being trans to go to opposite gender bathrooms and trans people having unfair advantage in sports after some body builder claimed to be trans and got world records even tho it was obvious that person was doing it specifically to get the unfair advantage…

What time period did you work for free while also working shitty jobs for rent?

Lots of people are working two full time jobs to barely survive...

I'm not saying you're wrong, but you have to look around and understand that a 1 bedroom apartment can easily be one full time jobs worth of salary to rent if you're a GenZ, then your second full time job is utilies and food... And depending on where they live, that's WITH a roommate.

Once you've worked 16 hours a day, plus commute time, unpaid lunches...you basically only have time to sleep.

Where in that schedule do you propose someone donate their time working for free?

This is me.

Parents are baby boomers but had me really late. I used to watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in my Super Mario themed tightey whitey underwear when I was like 4 years old…

I remember in my small town leaving the house on my bike when I was 5 years old at sun up, and being gone playing with friends until the street lights came on, because that was when dinner was ready. I could easily have killed myself or been kidnapped, my parents didn’t see me for 12+ hours at a time.

I’m from Oklahoma and I remember the walls of my schools Gym shaking from the Murrah Federal Building bombing.

I was in Middle School and remember lots of high schoolers having gun racks, with hunting rifles, in their trucks parked in the student parking lot. And it was normal.

I was in A+ classes at a community college while in high school and watched a live stream of the TODAY show as the second plane hit the WTC tower…

I’ve watched the world go to shit, I have a kid that just turned 18 and I’m angry that they won’t get to live in a world that even resembles the one I grew up in.

I’m just fucking angry.

As long as you aren’t expecting it to run games like it has a RTX4090 in it, and are fine with the limitations of both the battery life away from a charger and the fact that some games might have issues related to the fact that the SteamDeck runs Linux, you will probably not regret your purchase.

The new OLED version is slightly updated for better thermals, and from what I’ve read is slightly more capable than the OG Deck.

I have had an OG deck since I got the chance to purchase after putting $5 down to pre order (I want to say a little over 2 years?) and the most demanding game I’ve played on it was Baulders Gate 3, and I had no issues with performance, and the small screen at 1280x800 resolution looks good on the OG but I’ve heard the OLED is even better.

I just bought my sister in law a Refurbished 512 OG Deck for $379 after tax/shipping, which about half what I paid for mine as an early adopter. You might see if you can pick up a refurbished one or get the OLED with a smaller SSD and upgrade it yourself.

Thank you for putting to words something that’s hard to explain. You’ve given me some talking points I can use towards a friend that tries not to act like he’s alt-right leaning but seems willing to listen.
