i drank too much last night and now i feel a bit too sick. I live alone so cleanup and cooking are a bit challenging

Assuming OOP does infact just microwave poptarts and relies on other ready-mades, I don't think they have all the necessary equipment for baking.

I just think it's a tougher place to start in because while you get exact measurements, there's more nuance and less room for improvising.

I tried baking something (pigs in blankets) for the first time after having cooked for years. If you are not fully prepared for every micro-disaster that can strike during dough making, your life will be hell. Cooking pasta only has the prerequisite of knowing how to boil water, and reading the time for how much to boil the noodles.

You can follow the instructions on bread, quantities and time to bake, and yet there's still stuff you have to account for and know from experience.

Baking is the worst place to start for a beginner, because it reauires more precision in ingredient quantity and technique. There's little room for error.

Whereas with cooking a simple dish like pasta or rice, you have more leeway with quantities and cooking times and preparation. And wayy more room for error. You can easily experiment with more/less of ingredients because it won't affect the overall dish and flavour much.

Whereas with baking, dough for example is hell. You need an almost astronomical precision unless you want to glue your entire kitchen, or make it too runny, or too floury. Baking also becomes more difficult wihout measurement devices, whereas with cooking trusting something loose like a cup or just eyeballing isn't catastrophic.

scrolling in the comment section of this news article, i've only seen people either being concerner/shocked, and some sarcastically talking about recycling or something. Nothing about masturbation.

And if your criticism of lemmy is that it's being reddit with elitism, then why try to gatekeep the way people are going to react to an article on c/science? Are we all supposed to have degrees in chemistry or biology before making a comment?

Believe it or not people take heavy news a million different ways and react differently. People ending up making a masturbation joke after discussing microplastics in testicles (i assume this is what happened) harm nothing and no one.

i see, makes sense. Its been a long time since i played HK, but you can also increase charm slots.

Also you're not supposed to be able to use all of them at once, you have to change based on situation (although you can have one charm over thr limit at the cost of double damage received)

good luck with your custom map search though, Hollow Knight is a very good game

Why draw maps? theres an NPC that gives you a map of the current area, you can locate him by the sound he makes.

Oh and theres a charm that shows your location at all times on the map

counterpoints:

This would only hold up if the person is using male/female and not man/female

And assuming this still holds up, why not go with male/woman? The type of people to use this shouldn't be bothered, i mean thry throw the term "alpha male" all the time

Oh wait, i think the solution is to just use man/woman unless you're in a very biological discussion

probably witnessing mammoths or other animals return to their nest.

However I don't think the happiness would last long

Why are you so pressed? What part of what I said is somehow in support of Russia?

Do you then not think that U.S. using Agent Orange wouldnt count as a war crime? or any flamethrower use in WW1? or White Phosphorus?

What would using a banned weapon during war be called if not a war crime?

Clearly these weapons are banned because they are overly cruel, meaning it gets the job too well done.

Last time I checked if someone used banned substances that counts as a crime. And if someone were to break the same rules for war, it would qualify as a crime during wartime (war crime for short).

But no you just think that every hint of criticism against anyone good means that you're against that fully? Have you heard of the word 'nuance' before?

It's also a war crime if it's a weapon inflicting excessively injurious or having indiscriminate effects. Like flamethrowers, landmines and blinding lased weapons.

All of these weapons are banned under Geneva Convention, and by using them in a war you would be committing a war crime

And useful to let you know if a post is actually genuine/useful, or something you should probably ignore and disregard because everyone else that read it before you discarded it as bad

no it must only be for content farming

okay but you make posts with the expectation they are public. Votes only change a number, and are a way for you to show support/disagreement for something without broadcasting it to everyone.

If you want to broadcast it and make it public you can reply to a comment

title self-explanatory. Sync is great and all, but i often make comments and then a few days later i remember i made them and i see i got replies

this one is based on liminal spaces, and an idea of a story i had that never came to life.

the alternative title for this is "A Happy Place" which i thought adding to the title of this post would make it a word salad :)

hello! i decided i finally wanted to make lemmy a more active place, so i am going to post my digital art on here.

i don't really have the best art but i hope my contribution will help :) I will post more eventually.

This drawing is one i made in 2020, and it's of a famous place called World's End.

For context i did not know you can use an account from a single instance to post on another. With this in mind I have a few questions:

  1. If I can use one instance account everywhere, why can I make multiple accounts?
  2. Why isn't there a centralised account system?
  3. What's the use of having per instance accounts?

I'm currently considering keeping this main account and deleting the ones on other instances, because if i can interact with those instances I don't see the need for an account.
