I agree in general with your points. Sauron was a compelling villain and I love how he never lies and lets people do his bidding by themselves. His manipulation of Celembrimbor was easily the best parts of the season. The dwarves come in second. I didn’t really care about the Numenorians and the Harfoots/Stranger. I’m sure they’ll have more interesting arcs on the following seasons.

You mean these are reflects? Even the interiors look the same.

As someone not involved in the arts as a profession, I see more stuff about fashion vs sculpting, so my first thought is you’ll have more opportunities career-wise, especially if you get involved with the right networks and contacts early on. Take this advice with a tiny grain of salt though.

Yeah I might have jumped the gun the gun by calling it AI-generated, when I was meaning to say it’s edited/manipulated. The windows repeat several times. Definitely not just a simple photo that went through some filters.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 8 hours ago

Yeah you’re probably right, it may not be AI, but it’s definitely edited/manipulated. Some of the windows are repeated several times.

It’s AI generated. Weird double lane markers and every car’s headlights and bulbs in their homes being blue.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 14 hours ago

Yup. There also weird double broken lane markings. Everyone’s headlights being blue as well.

Well at least ovarian cancer isn’t airborne and contagious like covid. So antivaxxers can avoid it all they want, it’s their choice if they want to die from a disease that they could’ve prevented.

I dunno man. My new build house (nothing fancy, just a basic starter SFH) is pretty great at staying cool. We can keep the thermostat at 78 all day and we’re comfy.

Yeah, people in cities tend to be less conservative and more open minded. The more rural, which means less light pollution, are the opposite. So I don’t think that conspiracy really holds.

On subtitles - when the person on screen literally says a word in english but the subtitles replace it with another word.

This needs to be explained a bit, so here's my problem:

  • I use Focus for sleeping. I manually enable it when I go to bed and disable it when I wake up.
  • My Focus setting disables notifications for email, calendar, and some messaging apps.
  • My security camera app notifications are not disabled, obviously because I want to be alerted if something triggers it in the middle of the night.
  • However, there is a certain time in the morning between 7:30AM and 8AM where people walking on the sidewalk triggers alerts that wake me up. And no, I want to avoid not pointing my cameras away from that part of the sidewalk because it helps me catch people letting their pets pee and poop on my yard.
  • I usually wake up at 8AM and getting woken up 30 minutes earlier is annoying.
  • I am willing to accept the risk of not getting notifications from my cameras on my phone for 30 minutes before I wake up.

What is the most practical way to disable notifications from an app on a scheduled time duration while Focus is already in use? Schedule it in Health? Create a shortcut/automation?

I've been on an HSA+HDHP for a couple of years now and only realized recently the interest earned from investing HSA money is also tax free, so I want to start investing a part of my savings and see how it goes. I have 2 options, Betterment or Mutual Funds. I figured I'd try the latter to avoid fees, but I'm not sure which funds to choose. My HSA currently provides 30 fund options.

I see people mentioning Vanguard a lot so I spread out my initial investment into 25% chunks across 4 different Vanguard funds. How did I choose them? Well I literally just looked at the performance graphs and selected the ones that historically went up steadily without major dips. As a total noob, how can I improve my choices? Is there a simple way to decide without having to dive deep into the stock market?

Anyone know what's up with the recent beta updates on IOS? I think the last 4-5 updates had no test notes whatsoever.

[RECIPE] Sushi Bake (files.catbox.moe)
submitted 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) by [email protected] to c/cooking

Since there was some curiosity about what a sushi-bake is, here's my own recipe for it. Sushi-bake is basically a "deconstructed" sushi roll where the ingredients are layered instead of rolled then baked in the oven. There are different variations of how it's made, so this is my take on it. Apologies if I don't have exact measurements of portions, as I just wing it and base it on the taste.

Ingredients:

  • Sushi rice (regular white rice is fine if you don't have sushi rice, but add a bit more water when cooking to make it more moist).

  • Rice vinegar.

  • Any protein of your choice like crabstick, tuna, or salmon; shredded.

  • Fruit/vegetable. Cucumber, mango, avocado, or any other ingredients you'd like to add to your sushi; sliced and cubed.

  • Japanese mayo (i.e. kewpie).

  • Sriracha. In my case, I used a gochujang-based hot sauce with truffle oil.

  • Furikake.

  • Sesame oil (optional).

  • Sugar/sweetener (optional).

  • Mozarella cheese (optional).

Recipe:

  1. Cook sushi rice as directed.

  2. Mix your protein, veggies, and fruit in a bowl with Japanese mayo and sriracha.

  3. Mix the cooked sushi rice with a few tablespoons of rice vinegar and a bit of sugar (optional). I personally don’t put sugar because I find the rice vinegar enough for flavor.

  4. Line a baking pan with foil. You can also do without, I'm just lazy with washing.

  5. Grease the pan with a little sesame oil.

  6. Add a base layer of sushi rice on the baking pan and flatten it thoroughly.

  7. Add a layer of your protein/veggie/fruit mix on top of the rice.

  8. Sprinkle a layer of furikake.

  9. Optional: Since I like to put cheese on everything, add a layer of shredded mozarella.

  10. For aesthetic purposes, draw alternating diagonal lines of mayo and sriracha, and top it off with another sprinkling of furikake.

  11. Bake at 350F for 15-20 minutes.

To eat, slice it into square bites. You can eat it as is with chopsticks or a fork/spoon, or use Nori to scoop it up.

My city's limits covers one county and half of the county north of it. Why don't they just follow the same lines on the map, with either the county following the city, or the city following the county line?

The first advance screening for general audiences was on February 25 in IMAX cinemas. This thread is for people who have seen the film to discuss ahead of the official release on March 1.

SPOILERS AHEAD! IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE FILM AND DO NOT WANT TO GET SPOILED, STOP SCROLLING AND GO BACK NOW.

Mods, please let me know if this is appropriate and feel free to remove if not.

Not sure if I'm just not looking at the right places, but did anyone else notice that there's a lack of video content released from this year's all-star weekend? I remember from previous all-star events there were a ton of videos of players interacting on the court and locker room, as well as behind-the-scenes videos. The all-star practice was also officially televised. This time around most of the interesting content I've seen are from people in the arena taking videos from their phones, not official ones.

Does anyone else get logged out when switching between wifi and mobile data? I notice when leaving the house (or coming home) and my phone switches between wifi and data (and vice versa), the app asks me to login again. I have the beta/testflight version.
