I think "modern" cuisine evolved from astronaut food that everyone had to eat following the destruction of Earth.

Kind of like how modern American Chinese food evolved from whatever camp cooks could slap together from local ingredients for Chinese rail workers.

I hope Daryl from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend plays him in the inevitable movie about all of this.

Looking for an app for note-taking with the following features:

  • No ads ever
  • No nudges to upgrade, subscribe, unlock premium features, or any bullshit like that.
  • No recurring fee (ok paying up-front for the app)
  • Clean, simple interface

That's it. I don't need multimedia, multi-device syncing, cloud storage. I just need a place to write down ideas and grocery lists.

Recommendations?

The Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa. I'm about a third of the way through it, and it reads like a somewhat cozy magical realist take on 1984.
