I think it's not half as interesting as you think it might be...

I had a huge trash bag in my home office from a long ago deep clean of my flat, filled with all kinds of stuff. It was there so long it was basically furniture.

The sticking point was that because of local laws, I had to sort out the recyclable trash and dump it in the special dumpsters before getting rid of the rest. (Also, I knew that before gathering the trash all together like this, but it seemed easier at the time...)

Last week, due to external pressures, I finally managed to lug the bag to the dumpsters and do it. It only took 15 minutes, but it sucked exactly as much as I thought it would - just putting my arms in there searching for paper and recyclable plastics, not even knowing what was in there anymore... thankfully it didn't smell, but when I accidentally grabbed a very old, unsuffiently packaged positive covid home testing kit, I called it a day, dumped the rest (neighbours be damned) and went home to scrub my hands clean...

0/10, would procrastinate again. :D

This happens to me with surprising regularity... HOWEVER - I recently managed to do a chore after 9 months of procrastination, and while it did only take 15 minutes, those minutes sucked so bad that, for a change, I felt really justified in putting it off as long as I did. So it can go either way, I guess!

For me, that was Noodler's Black Swan in Australian Roses. It looked so cool and full of shading in the swatches I looked at - especially when it got dark, nearly black where it pooled.

Maybe I got another, worse batch of it or something, but for me it's just a really uniform magenta, even on TR and wet pens. I don't get what the hype is about, but maybe I was just unlucky.

Funnily, for me, skull and roses sheens red pretty heavily on nearly all papers. Maybe you got a bad batch, as well?

Low tier, actually obtainable if I work on saving the money, it's the Pilot Custom 823. I'm planning to have one maybe by the end of the year, finally.

Mid tier is the classic Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age - i don't think I'll be able to buy it for myself, but if someone wants to give me a luxurious present, it can be this.

My real grail pen though is a Montblanc with flexible nib. I don't think I'll ever have this much money lying around for a single fountain pen, or the guts to ask someone to gift it to me, and I don't think it can possibly be worth the money (or maybe it is?), but still :D

I'm really happy to hear that the sopuli.xyz community didn't just suddenly die - I've been there, refreshing for two weeks and wondering why nothing happens :)

Ah, too bad. I hope you find another place without the taxes - it seems that shops for pen kits generally have a wider selection of bare nibs, maybe that's a direction worth looking into. Good luck!

When I searched for a Bock nib, I had some specifications - I wanted it black and if possible in a nib unit that is compatible with a kit pen.
I got lucky at beaufortink.co.uk - they have quite a large selection and speedy delivery, which is why I would recommend them. However, it's not in the EU, so there is likely some customs tax to be paid. For me, it was worth it, so maybe it's helpful for you, too :)
