Same. Learned so much from r/sysadmin and r/Type1Diabetes

Just looked these up. This might be the perfect solution for me because of storage size when I'm not using it. Thanks for the recommendation!

I wasn't sure how to find the model. I know it's AquaSource but when I googled that brand I came up with a lot of replacement parts that didn't look at all similar to what is in there. Maybe I just don't know what I'm looking at 😂 I'm pretty handy but plumbing is not my thing. You'd think fixing a toilet would be easy lol

It's an AquaSource brand

It's the flush part. I tried to Google my toilet and came up empty. Took the flusher to my local plumbing parts store and they said you can't get parts for that toilet easily anymore. So maybe he was not telling me the truth (why I'm getting a second opinion on here). To me, it seems like you could just get a generic part for it but I wasn't sure if the hole was a standard size. I gotta go the Home Depot this week for something else so maybe I'll see if they have a universal valve.

Toilet repairability (sh.itjust.works)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by [email protected] to c/homeimprovement

Our old cheap toilet you can't get parts for anymore (dual flush). I remember my dad fixing old singl-flush toilets with just standard parts from the hardware store. But these new dual-flush toilets are super proprietary. Are single-flush toilets more standardized to where I would be able to easily find parts? I am thinking yes, but the plumbing parts store says otherwise. Am I missing something?

Edit: to clarify, my wife and I hate the dual flush so we're going to buy a new toilet. I'm more wondering if the NEW toilet will be easily repairable. Sounds like maybe the old one is more repairable than I thought, though.

Had this same complaint/concern but this is a really good explanation of it. Thanks!

My wife and I like to car camp in the back of our Toyota Highlander on occasion, but I love a long hot shower and not everywhere we camp has a shower house.

Anybody have some cheap solar shower ideas that have worked for them? I know about the hanging bag ones but seems like those would make for a very short shower. We also may not always have a tree or good place to hang a bag shower.

I thought about just a big HDX tote up on the roof rack with a spout attached. Or maybe we just need an RV 😂
