Look, I am a big believer in attempting to educate other people and better the world around you by trying to change harmful or hateful outlooks, but I also realize that some people cannot be changed. Trying to engage these types of people in real life is just putting yourself in danger. Engaging them online is fine but there's a limit to how long you should spend having dialogue with someone who could probably argue their irrational viewpoints for weeks on end without stopping.

Not surprising. Israel had the tech to bug everyones phones.

The Israeli NSO group which is a day 1 hacks group developed the Pegasus spyware and found lots of creative ways to get it on peoples phones. They also sold it later on to just about anyone who was willing to pay.

He would.

Despite everything he has publicly stated he has continued to offer Israel support. His administration quietly greenlit the attacks and invasion of Lebanon.

As long as our own military is not directly involved as the conflict expands I believe the election prospects will be fine but it still pains me to see this happening.

Nah I did that on purpose.

I wish I could say this instead of having to schedule my vacation time a month in advance.

Doesn't matter. The lovely Christians where I live would throw a fit because most of them want Israel to do even more damage.

Reject smart cars because they're collecting your data and it will be used to increase your insurance rates.

After being a few months away from being married and seeing it all fall apart I've realized that I don't ever want to be married.

Doesn't mean I don't want a long term relationship but I don't want to tie the knot and tangle up my life like that ever again. If we had gotten married then divorced my ex would have ruined me. I was too soft at that time and I would have let her use me as a doormat on the way out. I know better now but I still don't want to deal with those complications.

Damn, I used to watch GB growing up and he was one of my favorites. Loved how even when he was getting his ass kicked on the field you could still see the guy smiling as he lined up for another play.

Fuck man why did you have to do this?

Turing aside, the world simply treated gay people horribly altogether.

Gay men were victims of the holocaust much like many other groups but Germany wouldn't recognize this until 4 decades later in the 1980s. We know what the British did to Turing but the U.S. acted similarly due to the Lavender Scare which compared gay people to communists and enacted its own witch hunts for them.

I'm sorry that happened to you but I appreciate you warning people of the dangers of being confrontational with these people.

It's not worth it. You won't change their mind, people nearby aren't going to clap for you, you're just unnecessarily putting yourself in harms way because many of these people are not kind, they will respond aggressively.

People really just weren't ready for social media or having miniature computer-cameras at their disposal constantly.

If your child is having a meltdown of throwing a tantrum then you as a parent have a job to be doing. Put the phone back in your pocket or your purse and attend to your kid. Figure out what the problem is, do what you need to do to calm them down and consider that maybe if this is a frequent occurrence that perhaps you as a parent fucked up somewhere and you're going to have to be responsible by working to correct whatever mistakes you made that brought this bad habit into existence.
