I'd be fine with billionaires getting it first. As much as I'm not a fan of late stage capitalism, I refuse to cut off my nose to spite my face; they got A/C, feather beds, cars, baths, and all sorts of other luxuries long before us plebs got them. Let them beta test the stuff, and by the time the economies of scale pick up enough for it to be affordable to the rest of us, the kinks will be worked out.

Of course there's always the possibility of a cartel withholding it from the masses, but that's what the second amendment and guillotines were invented for.

I agree with this comment, but it wasn't the basis of your earlier comment. You're accidentally or intentionally moving the goal posts because you want to fight and you want to be right at any cost.

I'm not making the point that this person is as virtuous as any of the three that I named. I'm making the point that Law and Morality are not the same thing. Either you don't understand that or you do understand it and facing your crummy point earlier is making you upset.

Either way, find someone else to talk to because we're done here.

Do you think I'm inclined to answer your question when you ask it like that?

Didn’t we learn from the pandemic

No.

So we learned nothing. Neat.

Is this also a map of Proximity to Germany? My perception of Germans is that if you show up at 3:00:01 you're fired for tardiness.

Do you know why some countries wanted to attack Germany in the 1930s and 40s?

Sometimes the lesser evil really is war, but much more rarely than war hawks would like to claim. The Roman Empire famously caused strife among their neighbors and used that as an excuse to attack "for the safety of Rome."

I'd've gone lemmy.world but they required an email and I didn't want to give one.

I'm not on board with the Law = Morality argument and I doubt you are.

Gandhi? Rosa Parks? MLK? Would you tell them they shouldn't have broken the law just because they think they have a reason?
