I guess it would if the repair shops respected it. I am using my insurance to get the screen fixed so I have no idea where it ends up. They just have a big disclaimer which mentions that you should make a backup because the phone will most likely be factory reset.

Tak for uddybningen. Jeg troede der var et eller andet catch ved at poste på en instans med en bruger fra en anden instans jeg ikke havde fanget.
Jeg kører videre med min lemmy.world account indtil jeg finder en rigtig god grund til at sende en ansøgning og oprette en bruger herinde :D
Hvad er ideen i ansøgninger hvis man bare kan oprette en bruger på en anden instance som ikke kræver ansøgninger og bruge den samme bruger på feddit.dk?
I'll have to try that out, but I would still have to make a separate backup of everything - Just in case... I wouldn't trust this process until I have tried it out.
I do have a Samsung account, but it was my impression that it's not a full backup of the phone. E.g. only apps from Galaxy store is backed up, so i would have to download all apps again from Google play store
