I've used it for university. There's some documents that other free software (including Google) can't open. Other than that, I try to do most of my work on LaTeX these days. I've even written my resume and cover letters in it.
It might be a problem on your end. I'm looking at sub and I see posts of John Oliver.
Positive work for the environment is a nice change of pace
I feel less stressed :). Reddit started giving me a feeling of anxiety when I would doom-scroll. Switching to a different service feels like a fresh start.

Password managers are much better than using the same password again and again. I use 1Password.
