MODERATORS

So, I gotta ask: is the moderation team here in any way related to the team at r/worldnews? How similar or divergent are their respective policies? Can we get an official Statement of Intent/Community Policy and a 'get to know your mods' sticky or something as just listing a bunch of vague rules that are enforced inconsistently to promote hidden agendas is something I (and I'm sure I'm not alone) would like to avoid.

I don't think they are related at all.

Keep in mind that moderation is always going to be handled locally by whichever instance the community is on.

In this case, this community is hosted on Lemmy.ml. That means that moderation is up to them, and will align with their specific views.

You can and should use a community browser to search for communities, and subscribe if they are on servers that align with your views.

Or don't, and ensure you're getting a varied range of viewpoints and avoid living in a sounding box.
