This is too narrow of a picture. It's a giant combination of the manufacturer, supplier, insurance, logistics, politicians. So greed. We have laws against most of the mortal sins. FYI I am not religious but do not have anything against it. But we have laws against most sins. It's not currently illegal to be greedy, but it should be. Never at levels the common man will ever encounter.
