@[email protected] has been very kind to build a new GUI from scratch and make it easily hostable. So I've done just that and deployed a version that I control under gui.fediseer.com

I get the idea of Fediseer, but I can't find any instructions on how to use it. How are we meant to actually utilise it?

How you use it is up to you. The typical use case is using censures as a blocklist, which you can do via a python script or via the GUI.

We're also hoping we'll see more integrations directly on the UIs

I haven't worked out how to use the GUI. I can log in as my instance, but I don't seem to be able to give any guarantees about other instances.

Is it required that someone else guarantees my instance first?

Yes someone has to guarantee for you first. This is how the chain of trust works. Unfortunately instances which have open registrations and not even an email validation are prime spam targets, so many people don't feel comfortable guaranteeing for them

Ah I had thought instances would all guarantee each other, then you'd look for an unbroken chain from an instance you trust to one you're checking. It seems you start from one central one and grow from there, I think I get it now.

Have a look at the brand new Glossary.

As I understand it, Fediseer is a tool which can be used by instance admins. Regular users who aren't admin of any instance cannot contribute.
