I was changing the clutch cable on my Capri today and tried to use the front driver side pinch weld to jack it up. Had it half way up in the air before it failed and popped my fender out about half an inch so that was pretty cool. It turns out that these spots are known to be week.

Aw man that sucks! Was this with a pinch weld jack, or a normal one?

Wait are you supposed to use specific pinch weld jacks / stands?

Yah pinch welds suck without these. I usually just jack up on the subframe which is almost always best depending on the car and location.

Normal Jack, also good to know that a pinch weld Jack is needed. All in all the damage could always have been worse and no one got hurt so it’s not as horrible as it could have been. Definitely a learning experience!

Yep, glad it wasn't worse! Good luck getting the fender back into shape, and grab yourself a adapter like that.
