No real surprises here, but good for people not familiar with Delta’s fleet.

Appreciate the informative article. I think it hurts the Delta brand to offer a premier product that varies by a lot. They really need to guarantee some set in-flight amenities and seat space for of all things, Delta One - that's a customer subset they really don't want to burn. I wonder if other airlines have that much variance with their premium seating.

US airlines definitely do; and I would broadly say many are even worse. Korean Airlines for example, a delta partner, has no premium economy at all, but even worse, is still 2-3-2 or 2-4-2 in business class on some planes, and others are all direct aisle access for the entire cabin. And it’s not just short haul flights they fly with the shitty configs.

Emirates - usually lauded as a super premium airline - is 2-3-2 on the 777 but all direct aisle access suite like things on the A380.

Arguably delta actually has some of the least gaps between good and bad (the seats are broadly pretty similar, just doors and some slight size differences) - only the 75s are non-direct aisle access, but somewhat understandable on a narrow body.
