Been playing a lot of the beta rules lately trying out all the different factions available and having a good time. Rules are simple but surprisingly still lead to a complex game; feels a bit like chess in space as movement/positioning is arguably more important than just rolling well and poor deployment/manoeuvring can really bone you. There are additional optional rules that allow you to play with mechanics cribbed from Battlefleet Gothic, Dropfleet, and Star Wars Armada.

100% agree! One Page Rules is fantastically streamlined and excels at putting the game back in the decision-making and not in the rolls & min/max. I've yet to see a single iteration of OPR fall flat, and the fact that all of their rules are free is glorious! Suck it, GW. ๐ŸคŒ๐Ÿผ

p.s. Those paint jobs are super fun, and the scatter reminds me of the good ol' days of Poorhammer. ๐Ÿค“

I've only played Warfleets Grimdark Future beta so far and I think I've become a bit spoiled by its flavor. Looking at the regular Grimdark Future armies, they seem kind of homogenous between factions; I don't see as much wild stuff as in the beta. I guess that cuts both ways, though as in our playtesting we've found some broken strats so far but there's something to be said for almost every faction being a little busted in their own special way; makes them feel more distinct.
