I always found film critic reviews completely worthless.

Firstly because film studios have always been able to find critics to praise a film.

Then you have the issue that a critic looks for different things in a movie compared to general audiences. This results is critics praising things most people hate and hating films people love. So a good/bad review never really tells you anything.

Lastly we are in an era of connected films living in huge storytelling universes. Often critics simply review based on the film without context which can lead to great reviews for truly terrible movies.

Honestly I just wait to see if people in my life are talking about it or if it gets brought up on threads like this.
