An online space for the vegans of Lemmy.

MODERATORS
Not sure what I am doing wrong. I type [email protected] into my jerboa app search function and nothing happens. Is this the correct process? I can click the link and see posts directly, but in order to interact I need to figure out how to add it to my lemmy.one
I use Jerboa and sometimes I don't have much success finding communities. You should be able to find it using the website and subscribe, then it'll pop up in Jerboa

Other than that i haven't found anything like that... Would love for a shittyveganfoodporn. (although you can always create a community yourself!)
You can use browse.feddit.de to search communities across the Fediverse, even communities that your instance doesn't know about yet. If you put the full link into the search bar of lemmy and wait a minute for the site to find the community, it will "make the connection" and allow you to subscribe to the community.
I had been thinking of making a shittyveganfoodporn community, but haven't had any good shitty vegan food porn to post... also probably don't have time to moderate it. But I'm working on a vegan tiramisu cheesecake (from Addicted to Dates) as we speak, so I'll have some regular vegan food porn to post.

Awesome thank you! From what I have read, you need a server to host a community? I am mostly a mobile user though have a crusty laptop I sometimes plug in if I have to do any serious typing.
Nah some instances - like lemmy.world - allow users to create their own communities on their server, while others (such as beehaw) do not!
Ah, okay. I guess I assumed you needed your own server.
Good to see some fellow vegans making their way over here.
It is! I physically live in a vegan desert and reddit was one of the few places I found a community of like minded individuals.
