I see the same thing when using the Forge tiling extension in Gnome.

I'd half put this on your window manager. Like, the app isn't horizontally resizable in a floating window manager either.

A reasonable position would be to ask cosmic to make the other window take up the unused space.

You need to reach out to the PopOS devs not Lemmy and mention that you're okay with the tiling being proportioned based on maximum Window size (i.e. most of the screen is tiled to any other applications).
