Also the One Piece universe.

Ork leaders are just darker than everyone else.

Canonically they're bigger. There's a whole bit about it in Da Uvver Book (one of the books from Gorkamorka - it established much of the modern Ork lore).

Thought it was just whoever smashes in the most heads. You might be bigger but if tiny over there smashes your head in, he's in charge of you now

Yes but I think via leading, they grow

[–] krashmo 2 points 1 week ago

Yeah they do. A strong leader gets me so hot

Here's the passage I was talking about, from page 19 of Da Uvver Book: https://i.imgur.com/pj6HXGt.png

Ture true, from snotlings to warbosses. I just thought it was funnier to highlight a different hierarchy system since the imperium of man was measured by size.

"Try new Orktobet, made with real Tau! Taste the Orktobet. Taste the WAAAAAAGH!"

Destiny 2 logic.

Most bosses are just bigger versions of standard enemies. They do have some lore to explain it, but it’s still kinda just goofy.

Emperor of Mankind doesn't make sense. Unless there was a program to install the emperor from the beginning, implying a continuity of power from a previous era, there is no way the emperor is actually that big. He's a just a regular human in chonky power armor. Big brain, small body.

Space Marines are also not born so big, but become big as the result of extensive cybernetics.

And shit-eating.

Acshully, the emperor is a perpetual that has guided mankind since the stone age in one form or another. Supposedly he has at times acted in the background and sometimes taken on the role of famous leaders. He also can appear as he chooses, iirc most people just saw their own idealized version of the perfect human when looking at him due to his psychic powers.

In short, dude is "immortal" and for all intents and purposes a god with god like powers. Looks like he wants, or even like you subconsciously want.

I think it's... Corvus? who was briefly able to see through his glamour on meeting him and described him as basically just a dude in his Heresy novel.
