That's probably a beautiful slag-glass lampshade she just smashed.
Slag glass is thick. I guess Mr. True's skull is thicker.
That's what these are called!! Thank you, my family had one when I was a kid and I had no idea what to refer to it as.
In case you're curious, the one in the picture I posted is in the art nouveau style but the one in the comic looks more like arts-and-crafts.
Note the floral decorations versus the simple geometric shapes.
That was a nice shade, Condo makes it look substantial in the first frame. Love his style. I think Mrs. True may be his avatar, occasionally.
The author was far ahead of his time with these.
Love Mrs True putting Everett in his place just the same as him.
