Mystery connector?

I added some washer fluid to my car and noticed, for the first time in 17 years, that there's an unused connector near the top front of my engine compartment next to the battery box intake. Is it supposed to be unused? Am I missing something? I have no error lights except for the air bag, but that's because the spring ring or whatever it's called in the steering wheel wore out. The car is a 2007 Mazda 3 hatchback.

Don't have much to add other than my 2007 Mazdaspeed3 also has this unused connector. I've had the car since new, so there's no question about removed parts, etc. Probably something available on the Grand Touring/higher spec models.

Apparently it is connected on some Mazda3 models: https://www.mazda3revolution.com/posts/2460445/

I wonder if it's an accessory that I could find and add to my car.
