Based on my understanding you should be able to search for communities via https://browse.feddit.de/ It'll show communities from all federated servers.

Pardon the noop question ~ but how do I join a community on a different server?
Assuming that the name of the community is !community@otherinstance
Normal way
- Open lemm.ee and click the search icon
- Paste the community link in the search bar and hit enter. It should appear in the search list
- Click the community link. The community page should open
- Click Subscribe
Hacker way
- Open a new tab in your browser and in the URL bar, type
lemm.ee/c/community@otherinstance - Click Subscribe
