I don’t and never intend to use iCloud. But once in a while, I have to go to the “Apps using iCloud” settings to inspect, because sometimes a random app would be turned on.

(1) What does it mean to have an app turned on? I tried to log in to my iCloud account and could never figure out where those apps might be stored. (2) Is there a way to turn it off completely?

As I iOS developer is have never explicitly enabled iCloud for my apps. Mostly it seems that small settings files for the apps are synced to I could not much that a developer can do about that.

You could just turn if iCloud completely.

But l would not be to worried to about it is very little data.

Thanks! Good to know from the dev side!

How would I turn off iCloud completely and globally? Is it via my device settings or via web?

OT: why not? it’s free and it’s super useful when you switch phones

Short answer is I don’t have enough trust in Apple to store my data in their cloud.
