AO3 is back up (yay!) and there are other sites out there hosting great fanfic and comics. What's on your list for this weekend?

As for me, I'm waiting on a few Mob Psycho Fics I've been following to update.

I'm getting new glasses! (After... many years of not having an eye appointment to see if I needed new ones.) So hopefully something!

There is a short Bandori rarepair fic which is on top of the list. I have a few nuzlocke updates I've wanted to catch up with, if I have the spoons.

At the moment though? I'm reading a slew of comments. Someone is leaving me a comment on every chapter of a YGO fic I wrote and I'm eating up some praise.

I'll be honest: I ended up doing a lot more writing than reading. The fics are still there for me to get to! (But I completed something else, so I'm feeling very accomplished.)

It's nice to feel accomplished. I was struck by fic inspiration at random in the middle of the night and surprisingly I remembered it when I woke up this morning, so that's happening now. I have only just started though, so I feel far less accomplished.

Hey, remembering inspiration later is always a victory!

It really is. XD

It's always nice to receive comments! And yay glasses!

I follow so many fancomics (most of them Pokémon) that there is always at least 10+ that update per week. For those not familiar with comic updating formats though, majority just update a page at a time. So aside from a couple it makes for very fast update reads.

Fanfic wise I'm being very impatient on waiting for the next chapters to a YuGiOh story. If my brain would be kind to me I'd doodle some fanart for it ugh.

Waiting on comic updates is especially brutal. I prefer to read completed fanfic, but sometimes I get sucked into something in progress and then I have to suffer with the wait. XD

Usually I can be painfully patient. Just sometimes some works tease me in the right way to compulsively look up to see if they have updated random hours in a day.

However, thankfully, the works I'm being impatient on are written by people who love (and are able) to keep a schedule. As long as my brain remembers that I only have to look up those works at said specific times.

Usuall I can be painfully patient.

What's that like? It sounds nice. XD

Honestly it means I'm very easily distracted and can forget something exists regardless of how many reminder notes I leave for myself.

This technique makes sense to me. I must master it.

Best of luck to you~

What's the YGO story? Is it one you've recommended to me already?

Oh, just because I don’t assume, you dork. XD

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Whoa, whoa...everyone settle down now! Mind the language! XD

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I refuuuuuuse! (。△。*)

What's a less charged word than dork? Time to return to the word mines.

I await your fanart for me, good sir. <3

One author in the Phandom has been putting out chapters every day this week. If that continues, I'll keep reading it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I'm not familiar with that one. But daily updates are nice.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Aw, yeah. Daily updates are the best. I love whenever I come across a story which can manage that.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm either gonna look for BNHA (ShinBaku) or House of the Dragon stories. Or I might just spend the two days writing an update :D

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I should probably work on some stories myself... >_>

I'm not a massive A/B/O fan but I came across the Knot in my Name collection on AO3 & I really like their attitude of "let's make it difficult/undesirable for big companies to scrape our writing & use it for AI training" so I've been reading some of the submissions in my favourite fandoms (mainly Stranger Things & Star Wars).

not the weekend anymore, but this is the most recent "what are you reading?" post i can find, so:

just read Kirby: On The Flipside! for the first time recently -- it's a long, well-executed anime/game crossover with an ongoing sequel. also reread the entirety of Guessing Games (a kirby chatfic where kirby has to guess the identities of previous villains in the chat)... either last night or the night before, i don't remember.

I feel like crossovers in particular would present some unique challenges. I'm also always impressed when someone can put together a longer fic and do it really well.
