For anyone that actually signs or agrees to a contract with the Lions, I'll do a separate post.

The Ravens have signed Derrick Henry to 2 years, $16M.

The LA Rams have signed Jonah Jackson (Detroit Lions) to a 3 year, $51M deal. Not completely unexpected to lose him, but now we need to look for another Guard.

The North is getting spicy!

Packers expected to sign ex-Raiders RB Josh Jacobs. Yeah, THAT Josh Jacobs that led the league in rushing in 2022.

Edit: Packers have released RB Aaron Jones.

Franchise-tagged WR Tee Higgins requests trade from Bengals.

I don't expect the Lions to be in on him, but I've heard us linked to him. Just wishful thinking most likely.

Kirk Cousins agrees to a 4 year deal with the Atlanta Falcons. Terms unknown for now. There went the Bears' rumored trade partner for Fields.

Edit: 4 years, $180M, ~45M/year. Don't be surprised if this is what we pay Goff.

Vikings signing edge rusher Andrew Van Ginkel. 2 years, $20M.

Giants have traded for Brian Burns, and signed him to a five-year deal worth a maximum of $150 million with $87.5 million guaranteed.

Day 2 of the legal tampering period. Will the Lions still pursue trades for top CBs? Are we trying to sign Danielle Hunter? Tell me your opinion.

My take: We pursue Hunter, and draft a guard with our first pick. Use our 2nd and 3rd on DT/CB.

Texans have signed DE Danielle Hunter. 2 years, $49M. Damn, I was hoping we'd get him.

First day of official free agency (well, at 4pm), rumors are the Lions are looking at DJ Reader and have him visiting. I've heard both today and tomorrow as visit dates, so soon. Other rumor I keep coming across is the Lions are waiting to see what happens with the Chargers. Bosa and/or Mack could become cap casualties. Most likely is Mack becomes the cap casualty, and we'd have to trade for Bosa if we wanted him.

Edit: FYI, teams have to be cap compliant by 4pm Eastern, which starts the NFL 2024 season.

Kahlil Mack has restructured his contract to stay with the Chargers.

The Chicago Bears have traded Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a 6th round draft pick, which could turn into a 4th depending on playing time.
