I started nail art in 2020, and learned most of the techniques through reddit. Looking forward to sharing what I know and learning more cool skills on Lemmy!

Any fellow laqueristas here?

Very cool! What is your process? Are you swirling the nail polish on top of water ?

Yes, you drip the polish onto water in concentric circles then swirl it around using a toothpick. Then you dip your fingers in to apply it to your nail. You have to work fast and not breathe on it or it will dry before you can swirl it!

Thanks! I'll have to give it a try.

You should be happy with it. That’s pretty damn cool.

Haha, thanks! It's way easier than it looks, and tons of fun. You just need nail polish, a cup of water, and a toothpick. My Simple Little Pleasures on youtube has a TON of tutorials.

I've seen this effect on dice but never thought to try it on nails. Ooh, pretty!

At an art fair once I saw a woman doing this on fabrics, they were so pretty! I'm not big into any games that require buying your own dice, but I always admire those fancy sets
