Bees couldn’t care less about you unless you’re threatening them. I constantly have bees in my garden and we can peacefully coexist. Fuck wasps though.

Bees are pretty chill if you don't disturb them. So are some wasps.
A good trick is to distract them. Give them something that smells better for them than you or use stuff that they dislike so they won't come near you.

I'm not giving the bees anything that smells better than me. I like to think that the bee thinks I smell like a flower. :)
They only sting when they feel threatened. Gently wave them away when they approach you. Don’t let them just land on you freely, because that will up the chances of them just landing in a fold or corner of your clothes and freaking out.
I just blow the wasp away when it comes to close. Though the most important advice is to stay calm, people always freak-out and thát will get you stung.

Bees are usually pretty chill, just don't step on them or put them in your mouth.
With wasps it's more or less the same. Only a few wasp species are actually aggressive. Most of them are as chill as bees. They just look more aggressive.
I just waft them away. I find you have to be pretty aggressive with a wasp in order for them to sting you.
I've heard (so take it with a pinch of salt) that in autumn they all get kicked out of their hive and their lives are a big food orgy and they are more likely to be aggressive.
The ones that get kicked out in autumn are drones (male bees) and those don't have stings.
Supposedly they can be drunk in autumn from fermenting fruit and thus more aggressive.
the absolute safest way would be to pay others to eradicate the species (thanks Monsanto!)
alternately, stay inside & trust that no one lobs a wasp nest into your room.
