I think now with the data available it's time the foss community can build something out of it.

Perhaps a bitcoin based uber alternative for the ultra brave.

A bitcoin based Uber alternative sounds pretty awesome actually. I guess the Fiat to Bitcoin conversion will always be an additional barrier for the masses and drivers, but maybe the app can make that conversion for you. So in other words, you'd need to also double as a kind of exchange to do this conversion on the fly for people who want it.

I would like it to be mostly contained in app. Maybe a Api to keep up with current Bitcoin exchange rates.

I would use like a nostr node to broadcast availability and credentials. Then the rider would be able to pay as they go. Like pay a quarter of the way and then pay more to keep going. It would have to be a zero trust system because there basically wouldn't be a middle man.
