MODERATORS

Hi, all! I'm Miguel, and I am getting started with using these decentralized services for the first time + am creating communities with these! I have a few questions though...

1. Are there any moderation tools?

I've been looking around for a bit, but it's most likely that I haven't seen a post that I can moderate yet, or something else, but I don't see any mod tools. If there are any, please tell me about it below.

2. What are the dimensions for the community banner & community icon?

I want to make sure that they look their best when I upload them. Thanks!

3. How do I get started?

I've only signed up for de-centralized services like these not more than 10 times, so it's more often than not confusing every time I sign up for one. How does it work and why is it better than using, say, Twitter or Instagram?

Thanks for reading, and hopefully I get some A's to my Q's. Cheers!

P.S. Sorry if my questions are dumb, I'm just really interested in these and would love to get to know more. Super sincere apologies if any of them are common sense questions LOL, as I said, I've never used services like these before..!!

  1. Are there any moderation tools?

The moderation tools are very basic at the moment unfortunately. You can delete/purge posts/comments, and ban users from your communities, but that's about it. Better tools are already being worked on!

  1. What are the dimensions for the community banner & community icon?

Lemmy will generally resize anything you upload as a banner or icon to the correct size.
