Currently, there is a focus on subtitles and captions. For example, the WebVTT report does not focus on creating audio descriptions. Video players like YouTube do not have a toggle option for AD. Creators need to make separate videos with and without audio descriptions. Safari supports AD in HTML video. However, it is not supported in Chrome or other web browsers. Hopefully, this will change soon as more people become aware of the importance of providing AD. AD is becoming more common in subscription video players like Apple TV and Netflix.
