Can't we stop with the eSports news about CS on kbin?

I understand that this magazine was created as a substitute for reddit, but now that the globaloffensive subreddit is active again, can't we think of a way to distinguish it from reddit?

I suggest that we make this more of a community about Counter-Strike and ideas and discussions around it, not a pool for regurgitation of eSports news. I don't care which team frozen goes to, or elige, or anyone for that matter.

I am of the opinion that this platform should try to distinguish itself from reddit, and discussion/news about the pro scene should be limited.

I'm here mostly for eSports news so I disagree. Also this sun needs more content to take off, in the future, we could consider branching off a pure CS eSports community but not yet.

Maybe an eSports (for any game ) community would make sense...

I'm not even sure what the content would be without the esports part? 90% of content on globaloffensive is esports related, the rest 9% is primarily CS2 news (which will dry up within a year) and 1% sick plays. Even with a bigger community this site would be in a content drought without esports.

I would have loved a separate CS esports subreddit back then because that is what I am interested in. I don't think now is the right time to split the content here on Lemmy, though. The community needs to engage and grow first.
