As you've probably seen, Jodorowsky almost made a movie adaptation of Dune; it didn't get to filming but the preproduction work involved Moebius and HR Giger and was very influential.
Also it's likely that soon it'll be easy to generate surreal videos like this one using "AI" deep neural techniques, in the same way that surreal still images can currently be generated.
