Not someone I worked with or really knew, so doesn't really fit this overall question. But I used to come across a man that your post reminded me of. He worked at a fast food place. Probably in his 40's. Looked like he had been through some stuff in life. But just always so damn nice, polite and friendly. It was beyond any service I've had through a drive thru. After a couple times I told him how awesome I thought he and his attitude and service were. And he lit up and said life is what you make of it my friend. Turned out it was just a second job for him to make a little extra money, but he sure acted like it was the best job in the world and it was his job to be pleasant to everyone.
