Has anyone found if there's anything like implants in the game? (self.starfield)

There's a background that mentions implants and cybernetic augmentation/transhumanism (cyberneticist). I didn't pick it, but it made me think implants were a thing in the game. I'm a good 24 hours in now but I haven't found anything like it. Is that a thing?
