If it's not the primary TV watching space, I think having one in the room is fine. It's too high for kids where it is, but with some adjustment would be fine for putting Bluey on for the kids when you're in the next room, or having the weather, news or a podcast or something on in the background while you're doing something else. But yeah, I wouldn't want to watch a movie or scripted TV show in that space. Could be okay for sports viewing party if you wanted that room to be the place where the food and casual conversation happened, and had a separate room where people who actually wanted to watch the game could get away from the chaos of all that.
