Sci-fi has always rebelled against the status quo and held a mirror up to current society, helping us to imagine something better.

If white conservative men were capable of empathy and sharing the world would be a very different place.

No, no, everything in all worlds: natural resources, people, ideas, are all meant to be conquered by the men. Those things would be nothing without the superior controllers that can handle the extreme responsibility of doling out the pittance to the masses that they allow. We should really be thankful they're so generous.
