You're reading way too much into it, his original stand up was never clever.
Who said it was clever? Joe didn't do clever comedy Joe did angry and cynical observational and political comedy. I'm not trying to call him clever or smart at all, he just isn't as dumb as the meathead everybody tries to make him out to be.

Why do you keep trying to put your words in my mouth? If that's what I wanted to say I would have said it, but I didn't. I get that you want me to see things how you want me to see things but I don't, so how about just taking my words at face value?
Again, Joe isn't dumb, he's not being manipulated, and he absolutely knows who and what he's inviting onto his show and what affect they will have both in the broader media and to his critics and fans, Joe is just being a greedy self serving fuckwad, and it's working well for him so far.
You can underestimate your enemies on your own, but don't try to force me to make the same mistake you're making.

Your words are in quotation marks, mine aren't. I don't know how to make it clearer. I'm allowed to have an opinion that's different to yours.
You're also taking this way too seriously, we're just talking about a man of questionable intelligence who neither of us know.
The only thing I'm taking seriously here is you trying to push your opinion as my own, and your inability to understand the social cues that should have told you to leave me alone and carry on with your day.

There's literally no obligation for you to reply to me, you can decide no further conversation is necessary by just walking away instead of getting worked up.
Clever isn't intelligence, you can be average or smart and not clever. You can also be a bit dumb but also a bit clever. They are 2 qualities that can interact but are nonetheless separate.
