Discussions regarding media acquisition should be limited to the "how" not the "what", as this is not the place to discuss piracy of specific media. There are other communities for that, and we don't want to get this community defederated from instances where it's a forbidden topic. Posts/comments discussing specific acts of piracy ("How do I find X show?" or "Where can I download Y film?")will be removed. For further clarification see this post

Plex is absolutely not "designed to run on Windows". Both systems work absolutely great and in any case, a Linux server is a lot more stable than a windows server. Plex is also very lightweight on resources (when not software transcoding), so it won't affect your ability to run other stuff on the same machine. Only managing a single server is going to be a lot easier for you as well.
A piece of advice on matrix. Don't run synapse on the same server, use either dendrite or conduit as synapse is a bit of a resource hog, while the other two are nicer to your cpu and should work well for small installations.
Thanks for your response! I’m a novice to most of this. Everything on my server is a physical disk that I have in my physical possession. I used MakeMKV to digitize all of it, and it takes up a ton of space. My current Plex server can transcode 10-12 users without any issues.
