Commonwealth games in Vic scrapped apparently.. oops
Why was it showcasing Regional Victoria? What in regional Victoria is WORTH showcasing? I'm not saying the country is shit, the country is beautiful! but the major towns with the infrastructure to host such this ARE shit. Geelong is a shithole, Shepperton is worse. Bendigo is okay-ish but in the middle of F'n nowhere. Wodonga and Wangaratta both suck. its SUCH a Melbourne idea. As in, someone from Melbourne whos never gone to the country! These towns don't want upgrades to stadiums. They want better schools and hospitals. And more frequent trains to the city!
Yeah, if cash is injected into regional Vic, it should be infrastructure and actually improving the towns. Not a ribbon cutting ceremony in front of an aquatic centre that the local council will have to upkeep for the next 20 years.

Honestly, given how the the Vic gov has to curb spending, this is a good move.
They might need to scale down the event, if nobody else wants it when it gets given out for free.
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Oh geez. My colleagues did some work on the prelim stages over the last few months. I am surprised but definitely not shocked
So what happens to the Commonwealth games from here on? Does someone else end up hosting it?
