There’s also Pixelfed, a free, ad free federated Instagram alternative.

The official app’s v1.0 release is in beta so will be out soon in app stores. There’s also 3rd party impressia app out already

I really enjoy Pixelfed. I can't compare it to Instagram because I never used it, but Pixelfed is nice.
