Source: Reddit: Maybe Jean Grey is supposed to end up with Cyclops. But Famke Janssen definitely had much better chemistry with Hugh Jackman than James Marsden. Its also because the Scott-Jean wasn't developed well at all in the original movies, I agree. But these two also looked legit good together on big screen.

Movie Scott is a tool, comics Scott is actually a likable and very skilled leader (very much like MCU's Cap), at least before he turned into a psychopath because comics.

Yeah I'm including comic and cartoon Scott but it's just my opinion.
