We must go beyond our base animalistic desire to survive. We must evolve as a society into Protectors. First we must fix our planet. Then we can explore space. Explore, not conquer or colonise. We must not interfere or contaminate planets that may harbour life. We should build World Ships and travel the stars to gain new knowledge but only to observe unseen. Why should we go down another gravity well after we have so arduously climbed out of one? We must not turn into a Galactic Plague, destroying everything to be made into our image.
