Obviously with the closing of the Reddit API all of our favourite apps no longer work and you've ended up here looking for alternatives. Lemmy in general isn't Reddit, it's just similar and so it will take a minute to adapt, but as with all communities, it's you that makes it. Thanks especially for choosing Lemmy.tf as your instance. It's nice, speedy and well maintained. I look forward to seeing you all around. Have fun and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Thank you so much for the welcome! Can you possibly point me to any sort of FAQ or anything for newbies? I’m a little turned around and confused about the servers and communities. Just want to make sure I tread lightly and don’t rock the boat as I just arrived from jumping ship.

Lemmy is a bit strange at first if you're coming from Reddit, the only communities you'll see in the list here are ones that have been searched/subscribed to by our users. To find new stuff, you'll want to use something like browse.feddit.de/ to look for popular remote communities you want to join, then simply search their URLs here and then you can subscribe.

I have tried to pre-populate a bunch of interesting communities with an account here, but there's a ton of other subs out there to discover.

Awesome. Thank you! I’ve subbed to a few communities by random searching, but I’m glad to have like an aggregate showing. A lot of what I searched seems to be pretty dead for now. So I’d love to find some active communities. Thanks!
