Has anyone had luck with any of the marketed no-radial required HF vertical antennae? Specifically for 10? and 6m

Do you have one in mind? I'd be suspicious of a 1/4 wave vertical with no radials, but the ones you're thinking of could be some other kind of antenna.

From the ARRL review (2/06) of the CHA-250B, which is probably just an older version:

[Comet's] literature merely states that the antenna will radiate a signal and provide a low SWR on all bands without the use of radials. In this respect, the CHA-250B performs as advertised. It is neither a miracle nor a fraud.

The reviewer does say it was OK on the higher bands and pretty bad on the lower bands. My guess is that if you can put down some radials, you'll have better luck with an antenna that uses them.

I was considering one for a root mount.
